Engineered for Performance

The Science Behind Our Footwear

Every pair we make starts from the same question: How do we make the most optimal footwear for strength athletes?

Traction, stability, support, and ground feel aren’t just marketing language here—they’re the root of every design decision we make. Our material choices, rubber compounds, and designs are chosen with your performance in mind.

Novus™ Griptech – Traction Redefined

Novus™ Griptech isn’t just another rubber—it’s a proprietary formula developed in‑house after testing dozens of compounds under real-world conditions. We found that most lifting‑shoe outsoles claim to have great traction, but few actually can back it up with real world performance. Novus™ griptech is unique polymer blend that delivers consistent, aggressive grip across all training surfaces, without sacrificing durability, weight, or groundfeel.

Novus™ Griptech Feature Highlights

Ultra‑High Traction

30% grippier than standard cup‑sole rubber.

Predictable Performance

Maintains grip on all surfaces -- carpet, wood, rubber, or concrete.

Multi‑Directional Tread

Pattern mirrors how you drive through the floor during squats, deadlifts, and bench.

Durable Compound

Resists abrasion from wood, rubber, and concrete, maintaining grip performance for extended wear.

Anatomical Wide Toe‑Box Engineering

Traditional lifting shoes force your feet into a tapered, narrow toe box—a shape that contradicts human anatomy. Under load, your toes naturally want to splay to create a broader base of support. Notorious Lift footwear is built on an anatomical last that mirrors the foot’s true shape: wider at the metatarsal heads, snug at the midfoot, secure at the heel.

This design isn’t just about comfort; it’s about performance. When your toes can spread, you activate more intrinsic foot muscles, improve proprioception, and generate more vertical drive. The result: better balance, heavier lifts, and reduced injury risk.

Width Guide Across Our Lineup

Standard (D)

Notorious Lifters Gen 3
Traditional fit for lifters who prefer a secure, locked‑down feel.

Wide (E)

Ronin Lifters
Extra room in the forefoot without allowing excessive lateral movement.

Extra Wide (EE)

Radix Pro, Radix, Sumo Sole Gen 5
Even wider forefoot to allow natural toe splay. Midfoot and heel remain standard width.

Dual‑Strap System – Customizable Fit, Zero Pressure Points

Independent Adjustment

Two separate straps allow you to tighten to the precise tension you like. Two straps also broaden and distribute the force over a wider area of your midfoot to alleviate pressure points.

Hook‑and‑Loop Precision

High‑quality Velcro® that maintains hold through hundreds of uses. Strap bases are stitched and bonded to the upper for added durability.

Heel‑To‑Toe Drop Engineered for Specific Lifts

20mm Heel (Ronin Lifters)

Purpose: Improves ankle dorsiflexion for more upright squatting, allows greater squat depth

Construction: Non‑compressible EVA midsole wrapped in a rigid TPU heel counter.

Result: Stable platform for heavy squats and overhead presses; federation‑approved for all powerlifting divisions.

Zero‑Drop Platform (Radix Pro, Radix, Sumo Sole, Notorious Lifters)

Purpose: Keeps the body in neutral alignment, improves ground feel, encourages natural foot musculature.

Construction: Ultra‑thin (3.3mm–3.8mm) sole with graduated sidewalls for lateral stability.

Result: Better force transfer for deadlifts, improved balance for dynamic training, and the stability advantages of minimal stack height.
